David Bowie's Let's Dance album was released April 13th, 1983.

Let's Dance feels like a personal theme song.

I sported many pairs of Vans in my teenage years and in my twenties but as an adult, I don't care for them much.
If I had to buy a pair of sneakers it will be Vans.
A few years ago, Vans had a David Bowie Collab...but it sold out instantly. I didn't get a pair.

So I decided to embroidered a pair with lyrics from Let's Dance along with a diamond and dog paw....cuz the only time I wear sneakers is while walking my "diamond" dog.

Not sure the location but clearly looked like a fabulous dinner party or sorts..

Also inspired to create a new kind of bar cart in my home and
more storage and shelving to display all my weird tchotkes, books and collectibles.

I have this amazing vintage lamp and the shade resembles a Devo hat.
I'm wondering if that's where the band got their costume inspiration from?

My friend, who is also a parent, told me she bought her little girl a cassette radio player and gave her old cassettes.
She told me she plays Devo all the time.

This inspired me to play the album Freedom of Choice on repeat during my morning drives to work.
Mark Mothersbaugh is such an innovator when it comes to music writing and the more I listen,
I'm convinced that it's the perfect kind of music for kids.
All the beats and movements is all so animated.
Which explains why he would write the perfect theme songs for shows on Nickelodeon like Rugrats.

I love flipping through music magazines.
I love just opening a page and there are like twenty new albums at my fingertips. It's instant, no endless scrolling of discoveries. Quick recaps and album cover art for me to learn about new music in a heartbeat.

A few months, I randomly received two $10 Barnes and Noble gift cards.
Sadly there is only one store in the whole city and I never think to make a trip to that one store.
Last week, I had an appointment near the store and stop by to check out the magazine section.

I was annoyed to see that all the music magazines (including all speicifically about Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan and Dua Lipa) all were categorized under Men's Interest. (grrrr)

I picked up a copy of Uncut and New Noise hitting my gift card limit. $15 for a magazine? sheesh!
But well worth it because I have a new favorite record!

The album I played on repeat this weekend is Arny Margret's album, I Miss You, I do.
Folky, poetic, just what I need for Saturday morning coffee sipping.
Gah! I'm obsessed. This gotta a lot play this weekend.
